What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it? My latest book to release is Georgie Anne Goes To Japan. It stemmed from a conversation Kassanna and I were having about older adults getting freaky. Think of the movie, How Stella Got Her Grove Back, but grandma edition. I put her into Gen X, where she shoulders a lot of responsibilities. She comes to a point where she feels overwhelmed and realizes she's lost who she is as an individual.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
My office must be clean. A candle burning. Fresh strong coffee. If I'm actually writing, I listen to Yiruma. For research and planning, I have a playlist specific to each book. Despite technology, I still hand write everything.
Are you a plotter or a pantster?
I am a huge plotter and planner. I even crafted an entire digital notebook which includes tabs for everything from location research, archetypes, and detailed character development. It is my bible.
Which titles are you bringing to IRAE?
Grecian Storm, GeorgieAnne Goes To Japan, and Colorado Christmas for certain. There might be one or two more.
What’s your writing process?
Regularly interrupted chaos! (It really is though) First, I take everything from my head and put it to paper. It is ugly, messy, and probably makes absolutely no sense to anyone but me. I write in chunks, what I see happening throughout the story. Then I delve into the characters, figure out what makes them tick and behave how they do, before creating their tale.
What are you looking forward to at IRAE?
I can't wait to meet all of the new folks coming to IRAE! The sharing of ideas, the uplifting and motivating words of encouragement and the 'safe space' are things I enjoy every year. I am looking forward to seeing all the family and discussing what we are all passionate about, BOOKS!
