What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?

The name of my latest book is “A Dance of the Heart”
Can a vacation romance survive the painful past she’s trying to leave behind?

Vanessa Lawrence has never had good luck with men. Her cheating, narcissistic ex-husband was bad enough, but now her boyfriend has suddenly ended their relationship just days before their upcoming trip to Mexico to celebrate her birthday.

Buoyed by the support of her family, Vanessa decides to travel solo and unexpectedly meets charming, retired police officer, Bastien Bertrand. A dinner invitation follows, and a romantic dance together changes everything.

But back home, trusting their growing feelings is more complicated. Bastien lives miles away in Louisiana running his family’s farming business, while Vanessa is worried about how her college-age son and Bastien’s family will react.

When Vanessa’s ex-husband starts making sinister threats, refusing to put the past behind them, it’s not only her hopes for the future that stand to be destroyed, but the reputation of the man she loves.
Will their dance of the heart lead to a lasting love… or a bittersweet memory?

Do you have any unusual writing habits?

I do most of my writing at night (until usually 2 or 3am), and I always wear my favorite hoodie.

Are you a plotter or a pantster?

I’m a panster.

Which titles are you bringing to IRAE?

The Silverton Series

Book 1: Rosamunde’s Heart
Book 2: The Heart of a Knight
Book 3: Caleb’s Love (December 2025 Release)
Book 4: Rena’s Ranger (March 2026 Release)
A Dance of the Heart (2025 Release)

What’s your writing process?

Once I get an idea, I store it in my “Work in Progress” or “WiP” folder right away. From there it’s almost like a continuous stream of consciousness. I start a new file, and I put the idea and any notes I made on it and I write. As I go along, ideas start to form, characters start to tell me about themselves, etc. I then research the ideas such as the setting of the story, cultural factors, etc. This usually gives me additional ideas for the story which I include as they fit. Once I get everything down, I go over it and see where things work and where they don’t and make changes to the story’s elements and flow. The result of this is the first rough draft that does to the developmental editor to start off the entire editing process. This is also the time I get the burb written and work on the cover.

What are you looking forward to at IRAE?
